Che ci faccio qui?
Upright in the tall grass, its gaze elsewhere. The title says it all: “What am I doing here?”
The rabbit is Genziana’s signature: born by chance, it reappears in several artworks, each time in a different guise. Sometimes a warning, sometimes a sentinel, sometimes an ironic presence.

In a meadow of greens and yellows laid down in small touches, a black rabbit has risen on its hind legs and looks to the side. Short brushstrokes, blue above and ocher below, surround it without touching it: it is the only still point in the painting.

The artwork
The title (“What am I doing here?”) is its question, and it has a tone of irony: it looks like a guest who has landed by chance in a place that is too beautiful, who looks around and does not know whether to stay. The answer, perhaps, belongs to whoever stands in front of the painting.
What’s included
You receive the original artwork on stretched canvas, ready to hang, with the certificate of authenticity. The decorative frame you see in the room image is only an example of how the artwork can be shown to advantage: it is not included in the shipment.
