Through the site we sell original paintings, fine art prints and art furniture by Genziana Pompei, studio workshops and gift cards, with shipping in Italy and abroad. By placing an order you accept the conditions described on this page.
Original paintings, prints and art furniture
Every original painting is one of a kind: once sold, it is no longer available. The same goes for the art furniture pieces, upholstered by hand. Fine art prints are in a limited, numbered edition (the smallest in an open edition), as stated on each artwork’s page. The photographs on the site reproduce the artworks with the greatest care, but colors may look slightly different from the real thing, depending on your screen.
If, despite our care, an artwork were no longer available after your order, we will let you know right away and refund you in full.
Fine art prints are delivered without a frame. The mat, when available, is included only if you choose the “With mat” option. For mounting in a mat and frame we recommend consulting a professional: Canson Infinity Arches 88 paper is delicate. Mounting and framing are the responsibility of whoever carries them out, and we are not liable for damage caused by third-party work on the print after delivery. The rights that the law grants to consumers remain unaffected, including the legal guarantee of conformity.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in euros, VAT included. If you choose US dollars, or see them automatically because you are connecting from certain countries such as the United States, you will see indicative prices in dollars, set by us. Payment is always made in euros: the amount you pay is the one in euros shown in the cart and at checkout. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it using its own exchange rate and any fees it charges.
You can pay by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay), with PayPal or by bank transfer. With a bank transfer the order is confirmed when we receive the payment: if it does not arrive within 7 days, the order is cancelled and the artworks become available again (we write to you beforehand as a reminder). Workshops are paid for immediately, by card or PayPal.
How the contract is concluded
You choose the artworks, add them to the cart and, on the checkout page, review the summary and can correct your details before pressing the final button. The contract is concluded when the order is confirmed: with card or PayPal, as soon as you receive our payment confirmation email; with bank transfer, when we receive the payment. The email contains the order summary; these terms remain available on this page and you can keep or print them. The contract is concluded in Italian or in English, depending on the version of the site you use (in case of differences the Italian version prevails). If you notice a mistake after ordering, write to us right away at info@genzianapompei.com.
Shipping
We ship within Italy and to many countries worldwide, always insured and tracked. For shipments outside the European Union, any customs duties, taxes and clearance fees are the responsibility of the recipient. The courier usually asks for them on delivery. If they are not paid and the courier charges them to us, we reserve the right to ask the recipient to reimburse us.
For original paintings, shipping is included in the price, worldwide. For fine art prints the rate is fixed by zone, with free shipping above a threshold calculated on your cart total. For armchairs, shipping in a wooden crate is included in the price in Italy and elsewhere has a fixed rate by zone, which is added to the price and shown in the cart before payment. If the artwork arrives damaged, write to us within 7 days of receipt at info@genzianapompei.com with a few photos of the artwork and the packaging, and keep the packaging. We will offer you a repair, a replacement (where possible, since originals are one of a kind) or a refund, with all costs at our expense. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from receipt to change your mind on paintings, prints and art furniture pieces; the exceptions are commissioned artworks, workshops and gift cards already used.

Commissioned artworks
Custom artworks are agreed by email, case by case: price, timing and terms are settled together before we begin.
Workshops
Workshops take place in the studio in Colle di Val d’Elsa, on the dates shown, and are booked by paying immediately. If you cannot attend, you can cancel up to 48 hours before the start and receive a full refund: write to us at info@genzianapompei.com stating your order number. For courses of several sessions, the deadline of the first session applies.
A workshop needs at least 2 participants to go ahead: if they are not reached 48 hours before the start, we cancel the session and refund you in full. Since it is an activity with a specific date, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to workshops.
Gift cards
The gift card has a code that is used at checkout, for paintings, prints, art furniture and workshops, and it also covers shipping. It is valid for 24 months from purchase. If you spend less than the value of the card, the balance stays on the same code. The gift card cannot be converted into cash and cannot be used to buy another gift card.
Legal guarantee of conformity
For those who buy as consumers, every purchase is covered by the 2-year legal guarantee provided by the Italian Consumer Code: if the product you receive does not conform to what was described, you are entitled to repair, replacement or a refund.
Intellectual property
The images of the artworks published on the site are the property of Genziana Pompei and protected by copyright. They may not be reproduced, distributed or used without written permission. Buying a painting, a print or an art furniture piece does not transfer reproduction rights, which remain with Genziana Pompei.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. For consumers, the competent court is the one where you live or are domiciled.
