Ritmo ottico is a swivel armchair turned into an artwork: its new frame has been covered by hand by Genziana with a patchwork of fine fabrics, chosen and matched one by one, the way colors are on a canvas.
At the front the backrest is dominated by large red spirals on a cream ground, almost hypnotic; the seat and the lower left edge are covered in a geometric fabric with small orange, fuchsia, yellow and light blue diamonds.
Behind, the backrest is a pattern of orange, fuchsia and yellow diamonds; the left side is a large multicolored zigzag that follows the curve of the shell, with the patterns aligned in a single flow.
The seat rotates 360° on a central base in matte black metal. It is a one-of-a-kind piece, made in the studio in Colle di Val d’Elsa: the patchwork is composed by hand, without patterns, so no other armchair is exactly the same.
