Giardino verticale is a swivel armchair turned into an artwork: its new frame has been covered by hand by Genziana with a patchwork of fine fabrics, chosen and matched one by one, the way colors are on a canvas.
At the front the backrest is a sheaf of vertical stripes alternating cream with plum velvet, fuchsia, pink and lilac grey. One shoulder is in coral red velvet, the other in a floral jacquard in purple, gold and pink; the seat is a fuchsia and burgundy velvet damask with an orange edge.
Behind, the back is an ikat in sage green, mustard yellow, pink and cream; one side is in solid crimson velvet, the other in a cut velvet with large red flowers on a cream ground.
The seat rotates 360° on a central base in matte black metal. It is a one-of-a-kind piece, made in the studio in Colle di Val d’Elsa: the patchwork is composed by hand, without patterns, so no other armchair is exactly the same.
