Cremisi reale is a swivel armchair turned into an artwork: its new frame has been covered by hand by Genziana with a patchwork of fine fabrics, chosen and matched one by one, the way colors are on a canvas.
At the front the backrest has a large central damask panel in white and fuchsia, a shoulder in cardinal red velvet and a side in baroque brocade in sand and gold; the seat is worked with red botanical patterns on a light ground.
Behind, one side is a single panel of bright red velvet; the back and the other side are a tapestry with red, green and cream paisley patterns on a dark ground, closed at the bottom by a red insert with small gold stars.
The seat rotates 360° on a central base in matte black metal. It is a one-of-a-kind piece, made in the studio in Colle di Val d’Elsa: the patchwork is composed by hand, without patterns, so no other armchair is exactly the same.
