Orizzonte d’argento is a swivel armchair turned into an artwork: its new frame has been covered by hand by Genziana with a patchwork of fine fabrics, chosen and matched one by one, the way colors are on a canvas.
At the front the backrest and the seat are in a large silver grey damask with broad cream flowers. On the left a shoulder in pale fabric with an oriental landscape in grey, on the right a shoulder in petrol green velvet with a geometric pattern; on the seat an orange band and an olive insert, and the edge is stitched with fuchsia thread.
Behind, the back is a fabric with a grey oriental landscape on a cream ground, with pavilions, trees and rocks. The sides are a patchwork of glossy pink and magenta fabrics with concentric circles, an olive block with black stripes and a lime yellow insert.
The seat rotates 360° on a central base in matte black metal. It is a one-of-a-kind piece, made in the studio in Colle di Val d’Elsa: the patchwork is composed by hand, without patterns, so no other armchair is exactly the same.
